In Christ

Who, is waiting on whom? Are you waiting for God or is He waiting for you? Too many Christians are waiting for God to do something in their lives. Likewise, nonbelievers are also waiting for God to do something they can see. Then they will make an effort to get to know Him.

Guess what? This type of Christian will continue to wait (and get nothing) and the non Christians will continue to wait (and see nothing) and the cycle continues.

It is time to break this cycle.

I know the phrase, "waiting on the Lord” is found in the bible in Psalms 37 and it sounds biblical to use this phrase, especially when we are not seeing what we are wanting in our life. But, are we using it correctly? I believe the cycle will continue, if this and other scripture are used as an excuse or a religious sounding explanation, as to why God is not doing something in our lives.

If we look at this verse it really has a message to non Christians and to Christians. Psalm 37:9 "9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth.” NKJV Bible

Psalm 37:9 "9 For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.” NLT Bible

The first part of the verse is to non Christians. Hey, I didn't say it, God did. Remember you are only a decision away from being in the latter group of this scripture. If you want more info please contact me. The second part is to true Christians. The New Living Translation (NLT) translates it clearer.

Waiting is trusting!

If we are just letting time go by and not trusting Him, as this verse tells us, we will get nothing. If we trust, "we will possess the land.” Possessing the land is for this life not after we are dead. It would be a hard sell to say, "you can have it all, but only if you are dead.” No, the promises from God's Word are for us, in this life. Then, when we die, it just gets better.

God expects us to believe His Word and expect He will deliver what He has promised. The exciting part of this is, He will deliver through you, if you are willing to believe Him! This is what will end the cycle of non Christians waiting to see something! They will see God through you! They will see God meet your needs and heal your body! They will see miracles performed in your world that will cause them to run to you and demand to know your God... That is when, as The Church, we can say, "come lets walk, lets talk!”

God is waiting on us, not the other way around!

We are living in a world that is barely hanging on to what it calls a normal life. With financial melt- downs, earthquakes and changing weather patterns - on and on. The world's way of fixing problems is to throw money at it. God's way is by working through His Church. Through those individuals who will use their faith to do what He said we can do. When we do, we will begin to live above the natural and experience the supernatural. I'm not just waiting (letting time pass) -I'm trusting to be a part of -The Church that ends the cycle! If you say you are a Christian, then the world is watching you! Let's give them something to look at. A better way to say it is, let's give them someone to look at, as God works through us!
