Resurrection Life – "But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn't find the body of the Lord Jesus.” Luke 24:1-3 NLT

This week ending with Easter Sunday (or Resurrection Sunday) is the most important week of the year in the life of a Christian. Yes, Christmas is very important, because Jesus had to be born into this world as a human. Still more important, on the day of Passover, Jesus chose to die for our sins, sicknesses, diseases, and to take the whole curse of the law on Himself. (see Deuteronomy chapter 28 & Galatians 3:11-14)

This would just be a sad event in history if it weren't for "the rest of the story.” Sometime early Sunday morning God raised Jesus from the dead! Without this happening we could never have resurrection life!

What this means is, we have the choice to stop wandering around in the tombs of sin, sickness and defeat and step over into the good life God has for us through the resurrection life Jesus paid the price for!

You are no accident. God has a very special plan for each one of us. To find out what His plan is for our lives, we must put our attention on Him and His Word, the bible. If you have received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you have this resurrection life living inside you.

God's Word is living. That is, it speaks to our hearts and shows us who we are "in Christ.” It shows us what we can do "in Christ,” and what we can have "in Christ.” This is the resurrection life I'm so excited about! Each and every one of us can have it if we want to!

'"The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”' Romans 10:8-11 NLT

To receive this resurrection life, all we need to do is make a decision to believe in your heart and say with your mouth "Jesus, you are my Lord.” When we believe and confess with our mouth that God actually did raise Jesus from the dead that is when this new life becomes available to us – we are reborn or born again from above! Eternal life is available to anyone and everyone who chooses to believe!
