In Christ

Pleasing God?  Most people want to please God, even if they don't go to church and they joke about going to hell with all their friends.  I will insert here that God does not see any humor in that kind of talk, but He may be more pleased with you than some church goers.

"Pastor Dale how can you say such a thing!”  Because it is true.  He knows there is still hope that you will learn the truth about Him.  If you joke about going to hell, based on the life you live then at least you are being real with yourself and God.  I don't believe you understand the full extend of the situation, but at least you understand the consequences of the life you live, without God.

I know in my life there were times I was living a life that I was not proud of, but when I was in trouble I would still pray and ask God to help me.  Yes, I was desperate, but I still believed He would help me.  I used what little faith I had and God honored it and I now know, He was pleased with me.  Then later in life I attended a church that taught me not to expect anything from God and just believe that He is God.  Even though I was going to church regularly and trying to live a life I thought pleased God – I was not pleasing God!  Why?  Because I was not using my faith.  I was only learning about God and not using my faith to know Him, as a God that rewards me.  So it is possible.

Hebrews 11:6 Tells us very clearly how to please God and there is no other way, no matter what some preachers may say, it takes faith to please God. "6 So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith.  Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
NLT Bible.

So we see God is pleased when we use our faith.  I have asked some folks if they have faith and they reply, "I go to this church or that church.”  Our faith is not our denomination or the label on the church we attend.  Based on that reply I usually go ahead and tell them what faith is; obviously their denomination did not teach them how to please God.

Hebrews 11:1-3 1 What is faith?  It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.  It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. 2 God gave his approval to people in days of old because of their faith. 3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. NLT Bible.

When we are sick - God will heal us (of all diseases and cancers), if we use our faith.  When we are broke financially and the bills stack up - God will meet our needs, if we use our faith.  When we are in a situation that seems there is no way out - God will deliver us, if we use our faith.  The only limitation to receiving from God is what we are willing to believe, from His Word, the bible.

The verses above are so clear, yet too many times I hear teachings that you are not to expect anything from God.  If you believe that lie you very well could be a faithful church goer and not be pleasing God.

Are you willing to live the life you have and accept the consequences?

If you are needing a miracle in your body or your finances I suggest you find some faith teaching and seek the Lord.  Ask Him to lead you to someone or a church group who understands faith and who will stand and believe with you for your miracle.  If your church or pastor is not believing with you, then that is not the church for you - really your life depends on it.

No one wants to be sick and dieing.  No one wants to be broke financially or spiritually.  I don't believe anyone wants to purposely displease God or in other words live a life that does not please God.  Now we know how to turn our lives around and start to please God.  That is what I love about the bible it is simple and easy to understand.  It is God speaking to us.  If we believe it and act on it, that is, using our faith.  That is, pleasing God and He will cause His Word and His promises to change circumstances in our lives.
