Love Letters - Have you ever kept a nice card or letter that someone gave you which reminds you of their love for you? You can dig it out every once in a while to encourage yourself and put their words of affirmation before you when you need it most.

That is exactly what God has done for us! God's Word is His love letters to us. Is this how you think of the bible, as God's love letters to you? I encourage you to do so!

How often do you dig into His Word to receive the Wisdom and encouragement you need to live day to day? It is so easy to ignore God's prompting to spend some time set aside with Him studying His love letters to us. After ignoring God's voice too much, we can actually forget what He is really saying to us in His love letters!

I think too often we have the wrong idea about what God is actually trying to say to us in His Word. Instead of looking at His commandments as a dictator issues commands, try looking at them as God saying, "I want the very best for you! If you continue on the path you are going, you are going to get hurt!” We should always read the bible with His love for us foremost in our minds.

"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.” 1John 4:16 (NIV) In order to know and rely on something we must have a good understanding of it. Do you really know what God's love for you is all about? It definitely is not like our natural love for each other. God's type of love comes with no strings attached! God's love is more interested in giving than in receiving.

"For God so loved the world that He gave...” Let me ask you this... are you receiving? Are you receiving His Goodness, His mercy, His Love for you? All you have to do is ask Him for it, and then say "Thank you Father. I believe that I receive!”
