God's Medicine – Some people may think that God doesn't care or doesn't want to be bothered with the health of our bodies. This is so far from the truth. He cares very much about every aspect of our lives. We have His Word on the subject of health! Matthew 8:17 "17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” NLT Bible I encourage you to look up & read Exodus 15:26, Isaiah 53:4-5, & 1 Peter 2:24 to mention a few.

Also in Proverbs 4:20-22 "20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” NKJV Bible

So many scriptures in the bible deal with health & healing. In fact, the word "health” in verse 22 can be translated as "medicine”! In our society we want an instant fix, yet when we go to the doctor, we don't expect instant fixes, we expect to take the medicine the doctor prescribes. We don't leave it on the bedside table & expect that it will do anything. No, we know that we must "take it”. By this I mean that we physically swallow the medicine. This doesn't instantly make us feel better, but it does go to work & after a few days we will start to feel it's effects. Also, it is expected that we should finish the full prescription so that the sickness doesn't come back worse than the first time.

This is much the same with the Word of God! Healing doesn't take place automatically. As we find, meditate & read scriptures out loud, that deal with health & healing, we are taking God's medicine. This is the way we "give attention” to His Word & "incline our ear” to what He is saying to us. We keep it in front of our eyes or our minds & also in the centre of our heart. Most of the time the symptoms won't subside instantly, but the medicine does go to work immediately- when we apply our faith! Unlike many natural medications there are no adverse side effects, but it does take diligence, determination & our faith in the uncompromisable Word of God to produce results! To me, it's worth it!
