In Christ
Live Life God's Way! - Too often people act like living the Christian life is boring and such a horrible, legalistic existence. You can look at actors and actresses and they look like they're having such a grand time at parties and award shows. It may look like they don't have a problem in this world! Or we all know someone who has an influential job and it may appear they have it all. They may even believe it themselves.
If you happen to follow up on many of these same people, quite often they actually have many problems in their life and relationships. It may appear that they are having more fun and living the "good life”, but actually they can live a miserable existence! In Mathew 16:25-26, Jesus said, "If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”
We can all pursue a good life here on earth and actually feel very fulfilled, but Jesus came to give us even more that that. Does this surprise you? How can we have more than a good, fulfilled life here on earth?
First and most important of all we can have a good, fulfilled eternal life! We do this by asking Jesus to be our Lord and Saviour – to become born again (or born from above). Colossians 1:12 &13 calls this being rescued from the kingdom of darkness and being transferred into the Kingdom of light. Think about this for a moment. I'd much rather live in the Light than stumble around in complete darkness wouldn't you?
Secondly, I want to point out a scripture that I call the "dividing line” of the bible. So many questions can be answered by remembering this simple scripture.
John 10:10 is very clear. Jesus is speaking. He says, "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” (the Amplified translation)
Again, I'd much rather live an eternal life I can enjoy - an abundant life that overflows to others, than having the thief come to steal, kill and destroy! In reality this is the horrible, legalistic existence. The abundant life is what Jesus came to bring us! The abundant life He is talking about here is actually the Life as God Himself has it.
What an awesome opportunity! It is our responsibility to receive or to take it. No one can force the abundant life on us. It is just a simple choice that we can all make by asking Jesus to forgive us and come into our life. This will be the best decision you will ever make in your life!
