In Christ
Faith Speaks – What does faith speak about? Faith speaks the answer, not the problem!
Read through the first chapter of Genesis and it shows us how God speaks the answer to a situation in faith.
God didn't come out on centre stage and look at all the darkness, then say to the angels standing around, "Oh, look at how dark everything is!” No! He spoke the desired result. God said, "Light be!” And light was. (This is the literal translation of Genesis 1:3 I am told by a Hebrew scholar.) Then in Hebrews 11:3 it states, "By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” (NLT)
We are made in God's image. We were made as "speaking spirits”. If you study most of the people that were used mightily of God throughout the bible, you can see that they also learned to speak the desired result. Abraham, for instance, is a great example for us when we believe what God says, instead of what we feel or see with our own eyes. "Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping – believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, 'That's how many descendants you will have!'” Romans 4:18 (NLT)
How can anyone believe what God says before it actually happens? They do it by faith! You see, today, not many people know what it means to tell the truth. It is a sad situation I know, but true! Too often, we can't trust what people, even friends tell us, because it has been proven that they haven't told the truth in the past and so they can't be fully trusted. Because people lie, then they can not have faith in their own words. This lack of faith is then transferred over to how they see our Heavenly Father and His ways. Since they can't have faith in anything they say, then they can't have faith in anything the Lord says.
God on the other hand cannot lie! What an awesome thought. If He said there would be a purple dog coming around the corner with six legs, then look out, because that is exactly what would happen! Do you believe it? I sure hope you do. Your life may depend on believing what the Lord says to you!
The Lord wants us to be persons of honour and integrity – just like He is. Then when we speak His Word we can expect it to come to pass.
