In Christ

Christ In Me! - Christ in you!

Think about this: if you have asked Jesus into your heart to be Lord over your life, He actually lives in you! This means that everywhere you go, He goes with you. Everything you say, do and watch, He is right there with you.

Now, we've all heard the negative side of this - He's watching every nasty thing you do and say. Instead, look at the positive side. Jesus Christ (the Anointed One) lives within you and me to help us carry out the Father's will in our lives! This puts a whole different light on the phrase "In Christ.”

If Christ lives in me, then I'm no longer just an "old sinner saved by grace”! No, a sinner was my old identity, before I was saved by grace. Now I'm a Christian. What a whole different perspective on the subject. Once you have been born again, don't ever think of yourself as a "sinner” any longer! That would be like spitting in the face of Jesus Himself. The blood of Jesus has cleansed you and recreated your spirit. This is something we should never take lightly! Whenever we do happen to miss it and sin, we have the right to ask forgiveness and immediately receive it. (See 1 John 1:9)

Colossians chapter 1 is a great chapter on this subject. In verse 13 it declares, "For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” Then in verse 27, it goes on, "For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.”

This certainly paints a different picture of what you may have heard about being a Christian and what it is all about. Let's ignore what we may have heard someone say about Jesus and walking the Christian walk. Instead, go to the Word of God and let Him show you what He wants you to see.

Ephesians 2:4-6 says: "But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”

We don't have to live a defeated life here on this earth. He has given us everything we need to walk uprightly before Him. He has given us His ability – because Christ lives in us!
